Nigeria Aliyu Ibrahom scored the only goal as Houston Dynamo defeated Portland Timbers 1-0 to claim their first win of the season.
The young Nigerian made his 3rd starts this season for Ben Olsen side who were seeking to return to winning ways after a disappoint in the Concacaf Champions Cup mid last week.
He made his mark in the 42nd minutes when he attacked an over-the-top stylish pass from Panamanian MF, Coco Carrasquilla to smash home the opener for Houston Dynamo.
The defense was called into action several times with Micael dos Santos putting up a great defensive work at the back for Houston.
Aliyu’s goal proved to be the difference between Dynamo and Portland as the home team held on for their first MLS home win this season.
