Haji Wright came off the bench to fuel USMNT comeback win over Jamaica in the semi finals of concacaf nations league to zoom into the finals where they will face their rival neighbors, Mexico.
Jamaica's goal in the first minute of play of the semifinal was undone by a Cory Burke own goal in the 96th minute following pressure from Miles Robinson on a corner kick. Off the bench, Haji Wright had a brace of goals assisted by fellow substitute Gio Reyna in extra time to lead the United States to victory. They'll face Mexico on Sunday in the final.
Despite the final score, there is a lot of room for improvement for the USMNT and questions for Gregg Behlater. The USMNT have had trouble breaking down low blocks which is why allowing a goal in the first minute was the worst-case scenario. But the key was Renya.
After his introduction, Reyna assisted two goals and took three shots as he was able to drive the USMNT to victory. Only Weston Mckennie and Christian Pulisic were attackers who took more touches than Reyna and they played 120 minutes in comparison to Reyna's 75. Despite struggling for playing time at Nottingham Forest since his move from Borussia Dortmund in January, Reyna showed that it's not a talent issue as he positioned himself to knock on the door for the starting XI in the Nations League final.
