The Houston Dynamo secured a dominant 4-1 home victory over the San Jose Earthquakes midweek on 06/21/2023.

The Dynamo came out strong from the start, putting pressure on the San Jose defense and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

The first goal of the match came early in the 3rd minute with a simple tap-in from Amine Bassi who pounced on San Jose's defensive mistake to put Houston 1-0.
Corey Baird doubled the lead just 2 minutes later. The Dynamo continued to dominate possession. San Jose tried to mount a comeback but Houston's defense held strong and limited the Earthquakes' chances, their persistence paid off in the 41st minute when Carlos Akapo scored but Dynamo added two more goals with forward Thor who came from the bench to grab a brace in the 77th and 89th minutes respectively.
The win was a much-needed boost for the Houston Dynamo who move up the Western Conference table to 4th place and will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming games as they face state rivals Austin FC at the Q2 Stadium in a week 21 matchup.
