Ex Houston Dynamo defender, Teenage Hadebe has revealed the reason why he moved back to Turkish Super League to sign for Konyaspor.
The towering Zimbabwean defender said his return to his familiar territory was to stay active as he weighs his options. He said that his injury history made some of the teams who wanted his signature skeptical on signing him.
“I’m still weighing the options, some teams still think that Hadebe is still injured, so the reason I came to Konyaspor is to stay active for four months because I signed only 4 months contract and when the summer ends I will see what will happen” he stated.
Hadebe said that his wish is to retire in the Major League Soccer. “my wish is to retire in the MLS because I still love America, my family love the city, even the supporters are great, maybe when the season here in Turkey finishes I will visit and say goodbye in a proper way because I did not have the chance to tell the fans who supported me from day one when I arrived here goodbye, you know the bond I created with those people it means a lot to me” he stressed.
His new club Konyaspor are 19th on the Turkish Super League table and they are fighting relegation but Hadebe is bullish that his team will survive the battle and he will give his all anytime the coach calls on him to play. “For me there is pressure but I have learnt how to handle such pressure and in this kind of situation I know how to get out from it. I will do my best to help the team whenever I am given the opportunity, I’m just waiting for my chance and when it comes I will grab it with both hands and do my best. I’m not new in Turkey and I know what to do, bro I’m ready for anything, I believe the team, we have a good squad but we still have so many games left which is good for the team so I believe the team will survive’ he maintained.
On his signature dance move, Teenage Hadebe said his twins invented the dance moves so he adopted it as part of his goal celebration
Hadebe spent two seasons with the Houston Dynamo and scored 3 goals in 51 games.
