Following FC Dallas 2-1 come from behind win over state rivals Houston Dynamo in the opening day of the 30th MLS regular season at the Shell Energy Stadium, FC Dallas Nigerian born defender, Sebastain Ibeagha has hailed the impact of Lucho Acosta to the team.

Ibeagha said that Acosta brings to the team great qualities even on and off the ball.
“ He was very impactful, even without the ball he just draws attention, and he is able to get guys like Musa, Anderson Julio, and Bernie more time and space. Even his quality on the ball, finding those through passes, little passes here and there, we’ve missed that couple of years, his impact will be big” he emphasized.

FC Dallas acquired the former league MVP, Luciano Acosta from FC Cincinnati for a fee in the region of $5 million in one of the blockbuster deals in the last MLS transfer window.

On Petar Musa and his goal scoring prowess

The former New York City FC defender described his Croatian teammate, Petar Musa as a very lethal striker who can be very dangerous inside the box when given the chance.

“Lethal, I think he is a very clinical striker, make a mistake and give him a chance, he will punish you and i think that is what he’s done last year and that's what he will continue to be doing and that's his biggest attributes for sure” he added.

The 6ft 3 Croatian striker who joined from Benfica last season scored 16 goals in his debut season for FC Dallas.

On conceding early goal against Houston

The Warri born center back who joined FC Dallas from LAFC two seasons ago said despite falling behind early to a goal down against Houston Dynamo that the team kept believing in their game plan.

“We kind of kept believing in our game plan, in our tactics. We knew we can wear them down in the second half, last preseason game against Atlanta we were able to do the same thing, is just the believe in our tactics and in each other” he explained.
