We Expect a very good LAFC Team - Ben Olsen

Written by Sam Mbonu

Houston Dynamo manager, Ben Olsen said he expects to face a very good LAFC team when both clashes at the Shell Energy Stadium in MLS match day 7 western conference matche.

“We are looking forward to getting back out there especially after a disappointing performance in Portland. Is just another chance to push this season in a different direction, we had a good week, a tough conversation, a lot of guys pushing each other and hopefully we see some fruit from that”

This is part of Houston Dynamo manager Ben Olsen’s quote during his pre LAFC matchup media chat with Houston area media.

Ben Olsen acknowledged the struggles of his team, but he did not mince words to extol the qualities of the opponent.

“We understand who is coming to town, one of the best teams in the league. We know how talented this group is and am not too concerned with the games they have played on the front and back end. They are built to sustain this stuff, and they are a very deep team so it will be interesting to see how they go about it, but we expect per usual a very good LAFC team” he said.

Houston Dynamo are 0-4-2 this season in the western conference.

The departure of some of the team's high-profile players could also be attributed to the reason for the sluggish start as the team has currently recruited over 5 new players and getting them to gel is far-fetched at the moment.

Ben Olsen maintained that he has a deep squad of talented players but maintained that the team still needs to boost their confidence by winning games.

“We have the highest confidence right now of not getting that first win, I wouldn't say we are flying in that department but i think is a group that still has a lot of belief that we are capable of winning games and getting results. I think we have shown that, we draw on some of the games we have played at a very high level, we can also draw on two weeks ago, we had a very good game against Seattle on the road and we played Portland away and lost, okay, you lost an away game in the MLS on turf against a very good full strength  team, so you know we have to keep a lot of these in perspective. He concluded.
